So, an interesting start to the day....little man went to day care this morning as usual for a Thursday, (I work 5 days a fortnight officially and then pick up the extra Thursday when required)...I wasn't asked to work an extra shift today, so little man went to day care and what was I meant to do??!!!
Well, I was meant to have a blood test that was actually meant to be done 8 weeks ago and it takes 2 hours to do the test so I thought perfect...I will spend the morning doing that...NO!!! I was meant to book in for the test and forgot to do so!! (I have now rebooked for Saturday morning). So, I dropped little man off at day care and for the first time in 2 weeks he didn't cry when I left him!!!! That made me feel so much better!!! Then I headed over to my mum's to collect her as we were off to the Kmart Toy Sale!!!
OMG!!!
When we got to Kmart, we realised it was bigger than Ben Hur. Snaking around Kmart were women and their trolleys waiting to layby all their toys for their children (I am not kidding, we were totally shocked)!!! Mum and I gathered the three toys we had decided on and headed to the check out!! WOW!!!!
I don't think I have ever seen people with so many toys, ladies literally had their trolleys OVERFLOWING with toys! Which leads me to, how many toys does a child need? Our little man surely isn't hard done by but he would prefer to play with the catalogue that he can pull off the couch than a toy, or even better follow us around rather than play with his toys. I wonder why people feel the need for their houses to be covered in toys!? In saying that, my mum purchased little man's Birthday and Christmas gifts (one for each) and I purchased a toy for his first birthday. I sure hope in two months time he enjoys unwrapping his carefully selected toys!!
After our shopping expedition, we went and collected little man and headed home for some lunch. I don't feel that little man needs to be at day care all day when I am at home...and I MISSED HIM!!!! So, now while he sleeps, I am off to clean the house!!
