What's been happening?

The last few weeks I am not sure what we have been doing really but we have been non stop busy!!Two weekends ago, we attended 5 parties in one weekend, four one year olds and a thirty something as well. It was tiring to say the least!!

This past weekend, poor Warren had some mending too do...we needed a new insinkerator, new blind for Alexander's room and a new printer. All of which are now happily placed in their working conditions. The toaster decided to toast Alexander's bread this morning but didn't want to do mine....so looks like we now need a new one of these!!

This morning we had a lovely morning at Susan and Talia's for mums group morning tea. I had to leave early though as Alexander needed a sleep....on that note....sleeping....

Alexander is changing his sleeping pattern, I think he wants just one sleep a day but is currently having only an hour which isn't quite enough for a growing boy!!! The joys!! I love him to eternity and back though, so it's all worth it.

Anyhow, off to do some chores, be back soon!
Enjoy the remainder of the week!

Wordless Wednesday

Southbank Sunday

Sunday morning we were up bright and early and so we headed to Southank with our niece / cousin Emma. It was a lovely warm morning so we enjoyed soaking in the spring sun. Warren and Emma enjoyed playing in the water park....(Warren was more supervising than playing) and then they enjoyed swimming in the lagoon. I sat under the shade of a lovely big tree looking at the Brisbane river and watching Alexander sleep so soundly in his pram.

Emma seemed to enjoy playing in the water park, they don't have one where she lives in the country.

Alexander ready to head into lagoon.

Alex and I playing in the sand.
Emma swimming.
Alex building sand castles.

We then headed off to enjoy a yummy ice cream before heading to Nonna and Pa's for a bbq lunch. A lovely spring Sunday was had by all.

Saturday evening, the tooth fairy visited Emma at our place as Emma lost her second last "baby tooth", I think she was amazed that the tooth fairy found her in Brisbane!! We played putt putt on Saturday afternoon with uncle Adam and auntie Bron at Victoria Park. It was a fun afternoon, warm and sunny. I even managed to get sunburnt!! Alex and Warren didn't come to play which was lucky as there were so many people and screaming teenage girls playing around us!! All in all a busy but very fun weekend was enjoyed by all!!

Abigail's birthday party fun

The weekend was jam packed full of fun!! We did the chores early Saturday morning and then headed off to Abigail's first birthday party. We met Abigail at mum's group last year, she and her mum have been in Ireland these past 6 or so weeks so I was rather excited to see them both again!! It's funny, after seeing people each week since about October last year, you miss them in your life if you don't see them and I wanted to see how much Abigail had grown and what she had achieved whilst she was away. Abigail is now crawling and is so darn cute - she always was cute but is now even cuter!!

Alexander enjoyed the morning exploring the park and swings and playing with a few of the other children. It was rather warm and sunny - a perfect Brisbane spring Saturday.

What am I thankful for today?

I am thankful for the glorious spring day outside and the warmer weather! Who wouldn't want to live in Queensland?!

I am also thankful that Warren is home this week!! Snuggles and cuddles....while celebrating the week of Alexander's birthday....
What are you thankful for today?

Where does time go?!

Hello!!

Where does time go??!! We have been busy here, what a week...Warren has been home this week and working from the city office, which has been lovely. We celebrated Alexander's first birthday on Monday which was very exciting!!! I worked yesterday and will do my final shift tomorrow (YAY!!!!!). I am getting more and more excited about the final shift as the hours draw nearer. I don't think I will be able to do any casual shifts for awhile which means I need to organise gymboree and some swimming lessons for little man.... the list is endless of things to do!!!

I am off to cook a yummy dinner for tonight - vegetables and chicken schniztel (yummo).

My niece is coming to town this weekend and staying with us and my parents so no doubt there will be lots of fun enjoyed by all...we are thinking of playing putt putt with her.

Sorry to be so short but have to get ready for last day of day care and prep for dinner!
talk soon xx

welcome to spring

The birds are chirping, the grass is green, the frangipanni's are coming out...new life is beginning. I LOVE SPRING!!!

I remember September 1st, 2009 I thought to myself, rightio little boy it is September and spring now, I would love to meet you anytime now....
what is there not to love about spring???!!!
Happy Spring to you all!

The meaning of life.....

This is the true meaning of life... we should not be worrying about the menial things in life ie not worrying about bills to pay, wondering what to have for dinner, making time to clean the family home....
the real and very important meaning is right there on the left, Alexander....(well for you it would be your loved one but for us right now in our family unit it's ALEXANDER).
He is what we love and cherish the most and are thankful for each day....he brings joy to our hearts and minds, he giggles so damn cutely (not a word but it is for this), if he giggles we all giggle, watching him explore is priceless. It is the unconditional love that he shares, he grins at everyone who has time for him and even the people who don't. He has no fears, he only has love and fun. He is my world, he is his father's world. I will even go as far as saying he is our extended families world.
So thank you Alexander for being so perfect, so "you" and bringing so much joy and love to all our lives. I love you from here to eternity and back. You are currently asleep whilst I write this and I spent a good ten minutes watching you sleep earlier... bliss in a bundle. Thank you precious little man, thank you xxxx
